Our Nitro-Milled® flours are produced in-house here at our SQF certified, allergen free facility in New Jersey. Our proprietary Nitro Milling® system was specifically developed for hard to mill products like sunflower and chia, utilizing cold milling with modified atmosphere packaging to produce a fine, high quality flour. These flours are a perfect solution for grain-free, gluten-free, low carb, high protein snacks, breads and baked goods.
When developing our milling process, we found there were significant challenges to milling seeds with high oil content. Once we developed our nitro milling process, we were able to consistently mill high volumes of milled pumpkin flour, watermelon flour, sunflower flour, black and white chia flour and more without the traditional issues associated with oilseed milling.
As demand for low carb, paleo and gluten free snacks and baked goods continues to grow, manufacturers and retail brands must expand their ingredient portfolio to include alternatives to traditional flour. One of our most popular flours, bulk sunflower flour, has been growing exponentially since its launch in late 2019. Sunflower seed flour is a popular ingredient in crackers, chips, breads and more due to its neutral taste and color.
